Dave,
A fast-paced quick public apology doesn’t unflip the bozo bit. It strengthens its hold.
Reflection, remorse, and actions show the heart. And these along with the overall process take time and the outcome will be much more positive for you and others.
I would recommend letting people know you have work to do — because you do. And that you will reach out to folks when you have your poo poo back in a pile.
Then maybe look at your next few actions. Start a movement to help clean up the board rooms and corner offices.
Use your position as one of strength and civility. Look to organizations helping to right the ship on equal pay and appropriate treatment. I know of one you can reach out to if you DM me on Twitter at @richardbagdonas.
I hope we get a moment to chat about it. Thanks for reading and good luck with your process.
Richard
